Preacher

The preacher guided hearts and spirits. Pioneer preachers were circuit riders traveling on horseback on a regular route through the countryside.

Franklin was part of the circuit. Villagers would gather in homes, barns or the schoolhouse. Elijah Bullock’s barn on the green and Cooper Pickering’s barn on Franklin Road and 14 Mile welcomed parishioners.
