A flapper was a young woman in the 1920’s who embraced new freedoms in fashion, behavior and social norms.

Flappers symbolized a break from Victorian expectations. They wore shorter dresses, bobbed hair and high heels. They drove cars and held jobs. They became the icons of the Roaring Twenties!
