The Policeman

The pioneers had a constable and justice of the peace that settled disputes. Lewis Adams, Harvey Lee and Henry Cox were some of the first who served as justice of the peace. Snort’in Sammy Green, as he was called, was a constable.

Today, we have full-time police officers. The police station was built where the log schoolhouse once stood.
