Vintage Baseball Team 

This photo was taken in the 1870s - 1880's.
It was a gentleman's game. The batter could call for a high, low or waist high ball and the pitcher had to deliver it.
In those days, games were never played on a Sunday, but on Saturday afternoons, everyone went to the ball game! Between innings, there was often three or four members of a brass band that would play. Spectators would bring a picnic lunch, watch a ball game and enjoy the music. It was a perfect way to spend an afternoon.
