The purpose of the FHS is to enhance the understanding of Franklin’s history, including its character and sense of community.
About The Franklin Historical Society
The Franklin Historical Society is dedicated to preserving Franklin’s past as well as its present historic nature and character. We want to protect Franklin’s unique but vanishing heritage and present its history to the community. It is hoped that preserving books, letters, stories, poems, anecdotes, tools, and artifacts will instill in the minds of future generations a greater realization of the part those hardy pioneers played in carving this wonderful community out of the solid oak forest.
We hope to encourage the present generation to see itself as an important link in the chain of events that form Franklin’s character and reputation. We who live in Franklin now must accept the responsibility of being caretakers of both its past and future.
